It was rocky on my run this morning, my lungs were burning because of the constant uphill terrain, I had to watch each step because rocks and roots were everywhere, one slip and I would go down.
Sometimes that first bead of sweat is hard to get going. Not on this trail. I was almost instantly overheating and feeling the burn in my legs and lungs. It didn’t take long for me to start questioning why I would choose 4:30am to wake up and kill myself like this. But I kept pushing forward and it was well worth it in the end. I reached the top of the hill and what I saw took any breath I had left away.
I was instantly reminded of the scripture: “For I know the Plans I have for you says the Lord, plans of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope” Jeremiah 29:11
The road might be rocky, you may roll your ankle a time or two and your lungs might be burning so bad you don’t know how you will survive; but you will. God promises us that He has plans for us, good plans. It doesn’t mean it will be easy or fun, but He does promise He will be there for us and will reveal His Glory through all the pain.
Keep climbing those mountains, tumultuous trails and narrow paths, because there is beauty in your pain.
